LPGA International is poised for a construction
boom of major proportions during the coming months. There are
several key real estate development projects now works for this
area, including a much-awaited hotel and conference center for
LPGA International.
The hotel/conference center took a giant step toward reality recently.
Construction bids have been received from several sub-contractors
for a four-story, 210,000 square-foot facility that is expected
to cost between $20 and $25 million to build.
The headquarters of the Florida/United States
Tennis Association, a new $2 million facility, is located directly
across from LPGA International on LPGA Boulevard. It includes
24-lighted courts and a clubhouse that is open to the public when
tournaments aren't underway.
City leaders estimate that the USTA, which plans to host a minimum
of ten amateur tournaments at the site over ten years, will have
a $4.5 million annual economic impact by drawing over 5,000 participants
annually.
Also expected to have a significant impact on the economy is the
new $8 million Daytona Automall at Interstate 95 and LPGA Boulevard.
This unique mall features three of the area's top dealers-Daytona
Pontiac-GMC, Gary Yeomans Ford Speedway Dodge-Kia. "We're
delighted to see all this activity that is planned in and around
International", says Reneé Doss, CEO of Renar Development.
"All these wonderful projects will help create a more dynamic
marketplace that will benefit not only those in the immediate
area but the entire Daytona Beach community, as well."
